Eggs and peas / Ovos escalfados

My very first recipe. Are you excited?

I AM! ;)

This recipe is really easy, you make it all in one pot, really cheap and really healthy. Can you beat that?

The ingredients:
A large can of peas (mine is 850g)
1 can of diced tomatoes
1/2 can water
1 cup of lentils
2 or more eggs
1/2 small onion, 1 garlic clove
Spices: I used salt and pepper, 1 tblsp paprika, 1/2 cumin, 1/4 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (piri piri moido)

The recipe:
Cook lentils according to package instructions. I boiled mine for 30 minutes, then set them aside and used the same pot for the rest.
Fry the garlic and onion for a couple of minutes. Add the spices and mix for a minute.
Add the can of diced tomatoes, 1/2 of that same can with water and lentils and simmer for a few minutes.
 Add the peas.
Now for the star of the show: the eggs. I spend a little more and buy eggs that come from chickens grown outside. Definitely worth it I think.
Carefully place two (or more) eggs on top.
Simmer/boil until eggs are set: the whites are white and the yolk doesn't seem liquidy. About ten minutes.
Serve with bread, crackers or toast.

Substitution ideas:
Add chopped sausage; change spices.
